The US Department of Justice awarded a Students, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Grant in the amount of $404,420 for Safety and Security to Scottsbluff Public Schools.

Homecoming Week is October 6-11

On Wednesday, October 8, Scottsbluff Public Schools, Educational Service Unit #13, WNCC, and other area schools will conduct a joint emergency response simulation.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that the District has decreased the levy. When combined with the reductions of the past two years, the total relief to Scottsbluff taxpayers comes to nearly 45 cents. Based on the approved budget, SBPS will not be required to participate in the Truth in Taxation Joint Public Hearing.

Scottsbluff High School is excited to announce the hiring of Brian Potter as the new Head Coach for boys soccer for the 2025–2026 school year.

Starting July 21, the SBPS District Office will officially begin assisting families at our new home: the SBPS Education Center.

Students in Shelby Aaberg’s Enrichment Mathematics class spent the spring semester writing and illustrating their own STEM-themed children’s books through the Unite for Literacy Project, a collaborative effort with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering and Beyond School Bells.

On June 6, the Nebraska Department of Education awarded a grant to Scottsbluff Public Schools totaling $155,000 for Early Childhood Expansion.

SBPS has a number of surplus items up for auction starting June 9 and closing on June 23rd.

The Nebraska Music Education Association’s Music Educators Hall of Fame is the most prestigious award that can be bestowed to NMEA members.

Two SBPS Administrators have announced plans to retire at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year.

Scottsbluff High School joins 208 schools across the nation that were awarded Banner school status for the 2024 school year. Banner schools demonstrate commitment to inclusion by meeting 10 national standards of excellence developed by a national panel of leaders from Special Olympics and the education community.

Full and half-day classes are available, including before and after-school care options. All classes will be at the new Scottsbluff Public Schools Education Center.

The newest addition to the District has an official name as the Board voted unanimously to adopt Scottsbluff Public Schools Education Center as the name for the facility located at 2617 College Park.

When combined with last year, the Scottsbluff Public Schools levy has been reduced by nearly 40 cents, and the amount of money that will be asked for from the taxpayers is over $3.8 million dollars less than what was asked for in the 2023-24 school year
