Scottsbluff Plus

Ombudsman Scottsbluff Plus uses evidence-based practices to build a positive, respectful culture that promotes social and academic success.  Students will be provided with a structured environment in a small learning center with an average student teacher ratio of 5:1. Students are encouraged to complete necessary coursework leading to promotion or course completion as well as learn the necessary reintegration skills to transition back to their referring school.

Typical Day

Students attend school from 8:00-2:45. Upon arrival at the school students will proceed to their assigned desk and laptop.

All students have access to assigned individualized seating as well as a collaborative learning area where personalized messages, assignments, celebrations, activities, and opportunities to earn points as part of the schools PBIS system exists. Students will also participate in small group instruction for interventions needs, goal setting, and project-based learning in our technology rich environment.

A Youth Worker will provide social emotional learning lessons to further develop reintegration and transition skills. Breakfast and Lunch are provided daily, as well as the ability to earn snacks from the school store.

Enrollment

The Middle or High School Principal will complete a referral for placement at the Scottsbluff Plus or SB Plus program. The director will schedule an intake with the student and family. At the intake, a school tour will take place, as well as an explanation of the program. Enrollment paperwork will be completed, and a start date (usually the next day) will be provided.
