Scottsbluff Public Schools is proud to announce that Bethany Jolliffe has been named Principal of Westmoor Elementary for the 2025-26 school year.
Jolliffe received an Associate of Arts in Elementary Education from Western Nebraska Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Chadron State College,
and a Masters in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. Jolliffe has been the Assistant Principal at Westmoor Elementary since 2022. Prior to that, she spent 11 years as a Kindergarten Teacher at Gering Public Schools. Bethany brings a wealth of experience to the position including serving on the District Behavior Team, as a Summer School Administrator, and Building Instructional, Safety, Behavior, and MTSS Leader.
"I am humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to serve as Principal at Westmoor,” said Jolliffe. “This role is not just a position for me; it is a commitment to the community that I deeply cherish. The Westmoor community is near and dear to my heart, and I look forward to many more years serving the staff and families here."
“The relationships Bethany has developed in her time as assistant principal, her commitment to cultivating the positive culture of the school, and her dedication to the work we do as educators allowed her to emerge as the next principal of Westmoor Elementary,” said Dr. Andrew Dick, SBPS Superintendent.
Jolliffe will succeed Principal Bert Wright who announced his retirement as of the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Westmoor staff members and parents provided feedback and participated in the selection process. The SBPS Board of Education is slated to approve the appointment of Jolliffe at their next meeting.
