Math Teams Dominate at UNL and CSU Contests

At UNL Math Day Scottsbluff Mu Alpha Theta and Bluffs Middle School MATHCOUNTS students earned a combined total of $14,500 in scholarships, won the Class A Math Bowl title, and won the Class B Math Bowl title. Our middle school teams finished 5th in Class A and 3rd in Class B. Bluffs Middle School was the only middle school competing in a high school state tournament.

UNL Math Day PROBE 2 results
At CSU Math Day 3 SHS Teams competed with the Scottsbluff C team advancing the furthest in the 2025 Colorado State University Math Day Math Bowl Large School tournament.
In the CSU Math Day poster competition, senior Lillyana Abshire earned a 3rd place ($20) finish in the Original Math Research category with her poster, “Math vs. Movies: The Titanic ‘Door’ Debate.”
